About Wendell
Wendell Evans is Head of Discipline, Community Oral Health and Epidemiology since 2000. Prior to taking up this position, he worked at the University of Hong Kong as Lecturer, Department of Periodontology and Public Health. Then in 1991 he moved to The University of Melbourne, where he later became Head, Oral Health Sciences, School of Dental Science, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.
He trained in dentistry at the University of Otago, New Zealand. Later, he gained the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Community Dental Health (With Distinction) and was awarded the Doctor of Dental Science (DDSc) degree, University of Otago, where the focus of his research publications was on risk of fluorosis. Currently, Wendell Evans is Honorary Treasurer, International Association for Dental Research. Australia and New Zealand Division. He is also Honorary Member, Department of Public Health and Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, The University of Sydney.
