About Evelyn
Dr Evelyn Howe is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Dentistry and Associate Dean of Students. She is responsible for teaching the Communication Skills strand in the degree and heads the Personal and Professional Development Theme. She completed her PhD at the University of Sydney in the treatment of oral behavioural disorders with Professor Noel Martin in Dentistry and Professor Wendy-Louise Walker in Medicine.
Dr Howe is in private practice as a clinical and health psychologist. She has held consultancies to the Pain Clinic within the Faculty of Dentistry, the Menopause Clinic at King George V Hospital, Queen Elizabeth II Rehabilitation Centre, Mt Wilga Private Rehabilitation Hospital Spinal Pain and Lymphoedema Clinics, the Pain Education Programme at Macquarie University and the Phobia Clinic at Westmead Centre for Oral Health. She also consults to employee assistance programs for local government and is an accredited assessor for the NSW Victims Compensation Tribunal. In Psychology she has held National Executive membership of the College of Clinical Psychologists and was Inaugural State President, National Executive member and University Course Accreditation representative of the College of Health Psychologists.
