About Ayman

Ayman Ellakwa is a lecturer in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Sydney. He graduated from the University of Tanta/Egypt in 1990 and spent 4 years involved in research and clinical training in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry and obtained his MSc in Prosthodontics from the same University.

He then travelled to Birmingham, UK and completed a PhD (2001) with Professor Peter Marquis and Dr Adrian Shortall. His PhD work focussed on the clinical potential of fibre reinforced dental composite applications in restorative dentistry. He returned to take up a Senior Lecturer's position at Tanta University in 2002. He then moved to King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia to work as assistant professor of restorative dentistry and was involved in establishing new dental college as he was also the registrar of the college and the coordinator of restorative department.

He has published 15 research papers in refereed, international journals. He is a member of a number of societies including the academy of dental materials (ADM).
He is working as a reviewer for the journal of dentistry and the journal of American Dental Association.
