Christine Pollicino has
diverse experience in conducting economic evaluations including
cost-effectiveness analyses of preventative programs. This research
experience has been acquired within a relatively short working career
and has involved interaction with both private and public sectors. In
2004 she was invited to present at the 14th Annual Scientific Meeting of
the Australasian Health and Research Data Managers Association, in
Sydney. In addition, Christine was an invited attendee of the New
Zealand and Australia Health Services and Policy Research Conference,
Wellington, New Zealand, presenting `Preferences and perceptions of
patients with non-small cell lung cancer'. On occasion she has hosted
various workshops.
Whilst working at The
University of Sydney, initially at the General Practice Professorial
Unit and then Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE),

CHERE is recognized
nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence in health
economics and health services research.
Christine has published a
number of research articles and reports, some of which have an
international readership. In addition to her publications, Christine has
taught Master students in Clinical Economics. Currently she tutors
Introductory Biostatistics at the University of Sydney. On numerous
occasions she has reviewed grants and protocols for various committees
including the NHMRC, and reputable journals. She is also actively
involved in the health economics community and is currently a member of
the International Health Economics Association (iHEA).
