Alexandra gained her Bachelor of Dentistry from The Lutheran University of Brazil (2000). Since that time, she has been busy working towards promoting The Oral Health of Brazilians through child education (tooth brushing coaching) and fluoride use in Porto Alegre and Sinimbu. In addition, Alexandra has established her general practice skills, including Endodontics, Periodontics and Oral Surgery whilst working in dental clinics at her home town of Santa Cruz do Sul and Sinimbu (Brazil). Alexandra has also volunteered her services as a dentist for the Association of Parents and Friends of Children with Down’s syndrome.

In 2006, Alexandra obtained a Masters Degree (Community Oral Health and Epidemiology) at the University of Sydney while working in the Caries Management Clinic, Westmead Centre for Oral Health, specially established for the treatment and monitoring of patients at high risk of developing dental caries. Alexandra is a Research Fellow working in the Monitor Practice Program. She is currently responsible for an evaluation of the perceptions and expectations of patients, dentists, and practice staff during the Monitor Dental Practice Program implementation process.
