Michael Veness has been a staff specialist Radiation Oncologist at Westmead and Nepean Hospitals since November 1998. He subspecialises in the treatment of head and neck cancer and non-melanoma skin cancer. Michael also has a clinical academic appointment with the University of Sydney and is actively involved in teaching and supervising post-graduate medical students.

Michael has a strong interest in clinical research and has completed a post-graduate masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology. He is currently Chairman of the Research Committee in the Department of Radiation Oncology and is also a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee at Westmead Hospital. As a clinical researcher, he has published 40 articles in peer review journals and has a particular research interest in anterior tongue cancer.
