Peter is an endodontist at the Sydney Dental Hospital. A graduate from the University of Sydney, he entered the RAAF Dental Service on graduation where he was at one time the most junior Senior Dental Officer in the service. Following the completion of his masters program he joined the staff of the then United Dental Hospital where he is now a senior staff specialist. He is recognised by the NSW Dental Board as an endodontist, and is a Past President of the NSW branch of the Australian Society of Endodontology and the present Vice-President of the Federal ASE. He serves on the editorial boards of the Australian Endodontic Journal and the International Journal of Endodontics, and is a Past Secretary/Treasurer of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists.

Peter has been involved with endodontic education since 1984. Currently he is heavily involved with the undergraduate endodontic program at the University of Sydney where he is a Clinical Senior Lecturer and he has assisted with the continuing education in dentistry endodontic program for many years. Peter has lectured in Australia and overseas.
