Chris is a specialist periodontist who holds a half-time associate professor appointment in the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Sydney and is in half-time private practice in the Sydney CBD. He is currently the coordinator of the Masters Training Program in Periodontics in the Faculty of Dentistry, has been a consultant periodontist in the Royal Australian Army Dental Corps since 1982 and is a Board Member of the Australian Periodontology Research Foundation and the Australian Dental Journal.

Chris graduated BDS from the University of Sydney and after general practice in Western Australia and the UK, completed his MSc in Periodontics at the Royal Dental Hospital of London in 1978. He obtained his PhD from the University of Sydney in 1985 and obtained his FRACDS by examination in 1987.
