OverviewDentists who are actively engaged in implant dentistry often encounter soft tissue problems around implant restorations such as deficient gingival margins. Some of these problems are immediately apparent at the time of restorations. Others develop over time after the placement of the final restorations. This course is designed to alert dentists to potential problems and demonstrate how to avoid these situations. Participants will have a hands-on opportunity to practise simple surgical techniques for soft tissue management. The course participants will learn surgical techniques in raising Mucogingival flaps, flap design for stage I and stage II surgery, simple soft tissue augmentation procedure, connective tissue grafts, suturing techniques and management of peri-implant mucositis. Pre-requisite: BDS (or equivalent) with an active interest in restorative implant dentistry
Advice to registrants: Course participants should bring their operating loupes. The workshop component comprises surgical practice on pig's heads.PresentersStephen YEUNG, BDS, MDS, PhD, FRACDS
