Overview

Periodontal Disease Part One is designed both as an update for the general practitioner as well as the basics for those who intend to enrol in the hands-on Periodontal Disease: Part Two course in November.

Your patients may ask or say the following:

Is it normal for my gums to bleed?
My smile looks terrible
My breath is killing my sex life
Am I going to lose my teeth?
Will my bad gums cause heart disease?
Why wasn’t my gum disease picked up sooner?
Can I have my teeth straightened while my gums are bleeding?
I don’t want to lose my teeth
Do I need implants?

How do YOU respond to these questions and statements?

Patients nowadays are educated and demanding. They insist on a much higher level of care. They want to know all the options.

This one-day course will provide you with the knowledge to assist your patients. It is an overview of current, evidence-based concepts and treatment plans covering basic principles, systemic implications of periodontal disease, treatment planning and non-surgical through to surgical needs.

The relationship of periodontics with other areas of dentistry is a key issue in modern periodontics. In particular pre-restorative crown lengthening, ridge augmentation, implant preparation and surgery will be discussed.
