Overview CPR & Managing Medical Emergencies will feature St John Ambulance staff providing hands-on training in a setting which mimics dental practice as closely as possible. St.John Ambulance have had some prior contact with the training of dentists including courses run at the United Dental Hospital.
The workshop will include practical CPR and participants are encouraged to attend dressed in comfortable clothing as there is heavy emphasis on practical aspects rather than pure theory. Other aspects include discussion of possible scenarios, and up-to-date information of the management of medically compromised patients with conditions which are not uncommonly encountered in dental practice. The importance of effective teamwork in an emergency will also be discussed and suggestions made as to how this might be achieved.
