Overview

This course is designed to expose the general practitioner to additional techniques beyond what is generally taught in the undergraduate dental curriculum.

The program will cover anatomy, neurophysiology and pharmacology as well as practical application of a range of anaesthetic techniques.

After completing this day program course participants will be aware of the indications and contra-indications of the techniques presented in addition to the properties of the local anaesthetic agents used in dentistry.

NB: Course participants will be placed in pairs for the purpose of performing practical local anaesthesia procedures on each other.

Gow-Gates technique
Akinosi technique
Various maxillary block techniques
