Faculty of Dentistry Mission

The faculty of Dentistry at the University of Sydney is Australia's first and operates in partnership with its parent College of Health Sciences, related faculties and teaching hospitals, and is the first in Australia to deliver a graduate dental program.

The Faculty aspires to adopt a leadership position nationally and to achieve an international standard through:

• Involvement of students in self-directed teaching and learning;
• Curriculum development and the integration of medical and dental sciences;
• Research in strategically targeted priority areas;
• Comprehensive care of patients individually and in the community;
• Participation in debate and decision making in relation to public dental health and education policy; and
• Its relationship with specialist associations, societies, academics and colleges
